Why Lauren Chose Georgetown
I can’t tell you how excited I was after I landed in DC for my residency interview at Georgetown. From the significance of Washington DC to the charm of Georgetown, I was enamored of it all. More importantly, the program at Georgetown offered the opportunities and challenges that I felt I needed to grow as a physician and a person. The residents and attendings are brilliant, helpful, and fun. The patient population is dynamic and the career opportunities in academic or private medicine as well as public and global health are vast. Coming from a medical school in New York I wanted a city that excited me, and offered lots to see and do. The very first day, I felt that Georgetown and Washington DC fit that bill perfectly and I still feel that way today.
