Applicant Dinners

The night before your interview, you will be invited to an optional informal dinner hosted by one of our residents. This we hope will provide you with an opportunity to meet your future colleagues and friends.  Details on the location and timing of these social gatherings will be provided prior to your interview date.

Where to stay in DC

The Georgetown/DC area is beautiful and full of touristic activities. You can visit the National Mall or any of the Smithsonian museums after your interview day. You can stay in campus or at any of the near by hotels. Here are some options:

How to get around

The Georgetown University Transportation Shuttle (GUTS) operates five shuttle routes, connecting the campus to the Georgetown University Law Center on Capitol Hill, to University offices on Wisconsin Avenue, to Metro stations at Rosslyn (Virginia) and Dupont Circle (District of Columbia). The Rosslyn station is located at 19th and Moore Streets, and Dupont Circle station is at Massachusetts Avenue and 20th Street. 
This is a very convenient and easy way to come to the hospital if you don’t want to drive or rent a car. 
GUTS buses operate between 5 a.m. and 12 midnight. Click here to see a complete schedule and for pick-up/drop-off locations.

Metrobus and Metrorail:
One of the most common carrier routes is the Red Line Metrorail to Dupont
Circle, exit to Q St. Head to the Metrobus stop on the north side of P
St. between 21st and 22nd Sts. Take the D4 or D8 bus and exit at 38th and
Reservoir Rd. Blue and Yellow Lines serve National Airport. For the most
direct route, call METRO at (202) 637-7000 or use their online Ride Guide.

Airport Service Bus:
The Washington Flyer provides service to and from Baltimore-Washington
International, Dulles, and National airports call (703) 685-1400.
Reagan National is approximately 6 miles from GUH.
IAD is approximately 21 miles from GUH.
BWI is approximately 46 miles from GUH (usually has cheaper fares).

Parking

If you decide to drive to the hospital the day of your interview, please park at the Leavy Center (Garage Entrance 1). Parking validation voucher will be given to you before you leave the hospital.
